The juxtaposition of these often-censored, and commonly sexualized parts of the human body—rendered with clinical detachment yet saturated in artificial, gaudy color—creates a tension between the physical reality of sex and the symbolic, socially constructed meanings tied to the concept of gender. By estranging the familiar through color and composition, the image foregrounds the multidimensionality and mutability of gender, challenging the governing binary logic of mutual exclusion.
